Tasty Tuesday: Healthy Snacks

I love to snack and now in my 30's this has become a major downfall. So, I'm trying to find substitutes for my favorite, savory snacks. Here are a few recipes/ideas I have found on Pinterest or learned from friends.
Cucumber Snacks
Just cut cucumbers (either vertically or horizontally), squeeze a lime (or lemon), drizzle over cucumber and then add salt. For extra spice, add chili powder or flakes. Voila! An easy, healthy yet satisfying snack.

Tortilla Roll-Up
Stir cucumber into laughing cow cheese spread on tortillas, layer with turkey slices and roll up. A quick, easy snack or lunch!

Avocado
Halve or quarter a small avocado and remove pit. Drizzle with 1 teaspoon of your highest-quality olive oil and sprinkle with coarse salt and fresh pepper to taste. Spark with a squeeze of fresh lime. Makes 1 serving (361 calories).

Green Bell Pepper Chips
Instead of eating chips or crackers with a salsa, substitute with green peppers! Wash and cut up green peppers. Spray with Pam and sprinkle garlic powder on top. Bake the green peppers for 10 minutes at 400. Serve with salsa or other dips.

Enjoy!
